Following the success of Old Kempton Distillery’s inaugural World Whisky Day event in 2015, we are excited to be collaborating with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) to celebrate World Whisky Day in 2017!
This unforgettable night will be held in Dysart House, Old Kempton Distillery’s heritage listed cellar door. The night will consists of five expertly paired, very rare and hand-picked single cask, cask strength expressions with the delicacies of five corresponding dishes, created by renowned Tasmanian chef Waji. Waji Spiby has over 35 years experience in the hospitality industry, drawing on his connection with France, The Mediterranean and Asia. Having settled in Tasmania, Waji now focuses on local, small scale, fresh ingredients, creating a sophisticated fusion of flavours from his culinary past.
This special once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will give you full access to the vaults of the Society, and an insight into the depth of history associated with each dram from the National Ambassador, Matt Bailey. On the day, the Society will be ‘opening the doors’ to membership with a special offer to join and access all the benefits of being a member of the world’s biggest whisky club. Included during your visit will be the opportunity to taste a specially selected, outstanding release from Old Kempton Distillery. Also on the day, attendees will have access to pre-purchase a bottle of the special World Whisky Day cask from Old Kempton Distillery, laid down two years ago. Superstars of the whisky industry all in one room celebrating the best of World Whisky Day, for one special evening only.
