Tasmania is full of heritage listed houses, many from the 1800’s.
Unfortunately many are closed to the public, in disrepair or cost $$$ just to enter them.
We are extremely lucky in Kempton, Tasmania, to have Dysart House as our home. Not only is this gorgeous house kept in wonderful condition, it is open to the public, with free entry, 7 days a week.
The team at Old Kempton Distillery learn the history of the house and its previous owners as part of their training. We are all happy to share the stories (there are ghosts too!) of the Ellis family and the past convicts of Kempton.
We invite you, on your travels, to take a 1 minute drive off the Midlands Highway, and steep yourself in history today.
Open 10am – 4pm, 7 days a week.
