Old Kempton Distillery's home is the heritage listed Dysart House in Kempton, just 45 minutes north of Hobart in Tasmania's Southern Midlands.

Taste our spirits, take a behind the scenes tour of our distillery, or enjoy a meal in our café, and discover why we love distilling in this beautiful part of the world.

Our Cellar Door is open to welcome visitors daily from 10am to 4pm.

Our café is open from 10am to 3pm.

Distillery tours run daily.

“My daughter took my wife and I here for my birthday and what a super experience it was. Reviewing different single malt whiskies and gins. The lady that did the descriptions was very knowledgeable and the lady who took our lunch order and also met us at the door was a real beautiful local character. Their lounge has the most superb array of chesterfield furniture which made it imperative to relax fully with an outstanding flight of whisky. Lunch was delightful with big servings and I can truly say we had a wonderful visit with only the best impressions. “I have been here 4 times in the past 2 months and have had a delightful experience each time. The Devonshire Tea with 2 mixed scones, jam and cream were a taste sensation. I did ask for extra jam and butter and this request was granted with the warmest of smiles. Another occasion I had the Mediterranean Chicken Salad and this was probably the best I have ever had. Served with a Greek Style salad with an awesome dressing and very crispy chicken slices nicely arranged around the perimeter of the plate. Very tasty and well worth the visit. The ambiance of the café is Heritage Old Charm and that alone makes the visit a must do. Very highly recommended as not crowded with tourists and I was even recognised from my past visits. “We popped in on our way from Hobart to Launceston and had a lovely early lunch. Burger was exceptionally good and the whisky scones were really good too.
